Dr. Emma Ellis

Dr. Emma Ellis, DVM

Dr. Ellis grew up in East Tennessee, in Roane County with lots of critters in her childhood home. After high school, Emma pursued a Bachelor's degree in Abilene, TX. Once back home, Emma worked a couple different jobs before becoming a vet assistant and receptionist at JSAC. It was through her new job at JSAC that Emma fell in love with veterinary medicine, and was accepted into the University of Tennessee veterinary program in 2019. Throughout this time, and through most of vet school, Emma continued to work part-time on the weekends and during the summers at JSAC.

Outside of school and work, Emma enjoys spending time with Dustin and her family. She currently has 4 dogs (two of them being SARG dogs) and 4 cats at home that she adores as well. You may recognize two of them, Jasper and Chloe, from the front desk at JSAC. Emma is so excited to begin working at JSAC as a veterinarian with such familiar faces around her as she begins her career!

Brittney McBath, Practice Manager

Brittney was born and raised in the Rocky Hill area of West Knoxville.  She moved to North Carolina with her family for high school, then uprooted and moved cross-country to Arizona where her career in Veterinary medicine began.  She began her career volunteering at the Arizona Humane Society’s Second Chance Hospital, and attended classes through Carrington College’s Veterinary Technician program and Penn Foster.  Upon graduating, she began working at an exotic animal hospital, while also helping out with overnight shifts at the local pet ER. This is where her love for emergency medicine started.  She then uprooted from Phoenix and traveled up the hill to beautiful Prescott Arizona, and joined a busy, 6 Doctor, overnight emergency hospital.  After 11 years in Arizona, it was time to come back home.  Brittney moved back to Tennessee in 2016, and worked as the lead surgical technician, assisting doctors in various routine surgical procedures, and very interesting exotic animal surgeries including raccoons, monkeys, bobcats, reptiles, avians and even fish!  Her career goals were achieved when she was offered the Practice Manager position at JSAC in 2022. Her goal is to ensure that the staff, clients and patients all enjoy coming to JSAC, and she is constantly looking for new ways to improve the client and patient experience, and enhance the standards of care.  In her spare time, she enjoys painting pet portraits, kayaking, going to the gym, exploring antique and thrift stores, spending time on the farm, and relaxing with her husband, Matt and two sons, Jack and Liam.  Brittney’s home is also shared with three dogs; Jackson (Rat Terrier), Gumbo (Aussie/ Boxer) and Brutus (Pittie/Boxer), three cats; Bagel (Long-haired calico), Whiskey (Tortie) and Bean (dilute orange tabby), a Map Turtle named Soup, and various fish.  She also has 3 goats, Casey, Rip and Teeter, who live on the family farm in Greenback.
